The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District teamed with the City of Boca Raton and local organization Community Greening to give away free trees to District residents. The event was part of the District's 50th Anniversary celebration and National Park and Recreation Month. Community Greening brought 200 young trees to Patch Reef Park. Residents began lining up for the giveaway more than an hour before its scheduled start time. They left with as many as two free trees per household..
