Ocean Strand Park Opens

Residents looking to enjoy Boca Raton's natural beauty have a new destination.

Ocean Strand Park is now open for leisure.

“It's a wonderful opportunity for the public,” said Michael Klein, one of the first residents to tour the park. “We've eagerly waited for this to open up and see what's it's like.”

Located at 2300 N. Ocean Blvd., between Spanish River Blvd and Palmetto Park Rd., Ocean Strand Park currently stretches from A1A to the Intracoastal.

This first phase of development, which focused solely on the 11 of the 14 acres of property west of A1A, quietly opened to the public in February. The park includes an ADA-compliant walking trail, benches that overlook the Intracoastal, picnic tables and a bike rack. Final signage is in the process of installation.

“Opening Ocean Strand to the public was a priority for me,” Commissioner Steve Engel said. “It's every bit as beautiful as I had hoped.”

The District purchased Ocean Strand with the idea of creating a public park that accentuates the property's natural features and beauty. The additional open space allows the community to appreciate Boca Raton's flora in a relaxed setting.

“We're excited for the Boca Raton community to experience and enjoy this beautiful park,” District chair Erin Wright said.
